Vestibular & Concussion
Vestibular and Concussion Rehab at KineX
Dizziness, unsteadiness or symptoms following a concussion can make familiar activities challenging. Turning your head, reading, shopping or exercising may feel uncomfortable.
At KineX Physio and Wellness, we listen to your concerns, assess what may be contributing and create a rehabilitation plan around your symptoms and daily goals.
Understanding Vestibular Rehabilitation
Your vestibular system—the balance system in your inner ear—works with your eyes, muscles and joints to help you stay steady and see clearly during movement.
Vestibular rehabilitation uses targeted exercises and, for certain conditions, specific treatment manoeuvres to address dizziness, vertigo and balance difficulties.
Supporting Recovery After a Concussion
Ongoing concussion symptoms can involve neck function, balance, eye movements and tolerance for activity. Your assessment helps identify which concerns may respond to physiotherapy and whether another healthcare provider’s input is needed.
Concerns We Can Help You Address
Positional vertigo, including BPPV, which can cause brief spinning sensations when rolling in bed, looking up or changing head position.
Unsteadiness or balance difficulties during walking and everyday activities.
Dizziness with head movement or in visually busy surroundings.
Neck discomfort and certain headaches following a concussion.
Difficulty keeping vision steady while moving.
Reduced tolerance for exercise or daily activity after a concussion.
Dizziness has many possible causes. We assess whether physiotherapy is appropriate or medical evaluation is needed.
What Your Care May Include
We review your symptoms, health history and goals, then assess relevant areas such as balance, eye movements, neck function and activity tolerance.
Depending on our findings, treatment may include:
Repositioning manoeuvres for confirmed BPPV.
Exercises to improve balance and visual stability during movement.
Gradual practice of symptom-provoking movements, when appropriate.
Treatment for contributing neck concerns.
A paced return to exercise and daily activities.
A personalized home program with clear instructions.
Your plan is adjusted to your response, with guidance on what to expect and when to progress.
What Should I Know Before Booking?
Seek medical assessment for a suspected concussion or sudden, unexplained dizziness. Rehabilitation complements medical care. Returning to sport after a concussion requires appropriate medical guidance and clearance.
